We work hand-in-hand with local organizations to promote the importance of recycling through our NexTrex® program. In 2021, Trex helped more than 2,500 community groups and schools recycle 1 million-plus pounds of plastic film.
When it comes to recycling, we know simpler is better. Our NexTrex® labeling initiative, launched in 2021, streamlined the process for retailers, distributors and brand owners to verify that their packaging can be recycled through our program. Eco-conscious consumers can easily spot the NexTrex® label on products and drop off discarded packaging at 32,000 collection locations in the United States.
Together with our employees, we support a broad array of charitable organizations through donations and volunteering. We contributed more than $280,000 to community programs in 2021.
Our longstanding partnerships with United Way branches in Virginia, Nevada and Minnesota help improve health, education and financial stability in our communities. In 2021, United Way of Northern Shenandoah, VA honored us with a Gold Award as the branch’s largest contributor for the 13th consecutive year.
As part of a three-year partnership with the Yellow Ribbon Fund, we have pledged at least $180,000 toward housing, transportation and family support for military veterans. We are also matching employee donations to this effort, dollar-for-dollar.
